The bathroom is one of the most important rooms in the home and among those that should be kept constantly clean, for health and hygiene reasons. A clean bathroom is not only pleasant, but it is also safe and hygienic.
However, precisely because of the constant humidity and frequent use of water, the bathroom is more likely to get dirty and accumulate limescale and mould , which in turn causes bad odors and stains that are difficult to eliminate.
Below we suggest 7 simple hotel tricks to keep your bathroom clean and shiny without having to do a deep clean every time.
1. Clean the shower frequently
It may seem like obvious advice, but applying a cleaning product with a certain frequency allows us to keep the shower clean, without limescale accumulation and without dirt, thus avoiding having to do deep cleaning.
To keep your shower clean, prepare a cleaner by mixing equal parts water and vinegar. Spray the solution on the inside surfaces of the shower, then rinse with warm water. Remember that good bathroom ventilation is essential to prevent mold buildup, especially in the shower.
2. Cleaning the bathtub
The same applies to the bathtub as to the shower: applying a cleaning product frequently prevents us from having to do deep and heavy cleaning, in which we will probably find ourselves having to deal with difficult stains.
Mix 4 liters of warm water with a glass of alcohol, half a glass of vinegar and a tablespoon of baking soda. Pour everything into the bathtub and leave for 10 minutes, then rinse.
3. Cleaning of glass and mirrors
Residues accumulate on them and very annoying rings form. The solution is to clean them superficially every day with baking soda or alcohol.
Use a microfiber cloth, apply a little alcohol and wipe it over the glass.
4. Cleaning the toilet
Definitely one of the places in the bathroom most subject to the accumulation of mould, limescale and bacteria. Cleaning it frequently is a matter of hygiene and to do so it is not necessary to use chemical products.
Mix 3 grams of baking soda with 2 grams of lemon juice and 10 ml of hot or warm water. Pour it into the toilet and use a toilet brush to clean the inside. Finally, flush the toilet. This method is also useful for unclogging toilets.
5. Cleaning the toilet brush
It is essential to clean this bathroom accessory, as it is constantly exposed not only to dirt, but also to bacteria and microbes that can be harmful to our health.
Pour a little boiling water into the toilet brush container, then add small quantities of baking soda, detergent, vinegar and salt. Soak the toilet brush in the solution for 5 minutes, then flush it down the toilet.
6. Remove rust
In the bathroom there are many metal objects and accessories which, due to the constant humidity of the room, are exposed to the formation of rust.
Mix salt and lemon juice and use a toothbrush to clean all metal surfaces. Finally, wipe with a clean microfiber cloth to remove residue.
7. Keep the ceiling clean
Surely you have never thought about cleaning the bathroom ceiling, yet much of the humidity produced in the bathroom settles on it and very often annoying mold forms.
Use a combination of salt and baking soda to clean your ceiling at least 3 or 4 times a year.
