If giving up Crystal Lite or Vitamin Water was the hardest part of going Paleo, here’s a recipe to make you forget all about the fake-sugar crystals and chemical “strawberry” or “fruit punch” flavor that never had anything to do with any kind of actual berry.
For a Paleo take on fruit-infused water, this drink adds sweetness with raspberries and a tart citrus flavor with quartered limes. It’s naturally refreshing and delicious, with no sugar involved.
To get the best possible flavor, let it sit in the fridge for several hours – the longer you let it rest, the tastier it gets. You can also refill the jar with water more than once before all the fruit flavor is exhausted.
For light afternoon refreshment, this would be perfect with some coconut squares or herb scones, especially if you’re serving guests who aren’t used to the idea of Paleo and want to see a “treat” that looks like something they’re used to.
All the fresh fruit in the drink gives it a very retro kind of elegance, and if you conveniently forget to mention that it doesn’t have any sugar, your guests might even enjoy the natural flavor without realizing that it “isn’t sweet enough!”
