Mama’s Casserole Pork Chops Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4-5 pork chops
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 1/3 cup tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown vinegar (malt vinegar)
  • 1/3 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup beef stock
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • Optional: crushed garlic, chili flakes

Instructions:

  • Layer the pork chops, sliced onion, and tomato in a slow cooker. Optionally, brown the chops beforehand for enhanced flavor.
  • In a bowl, combine tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown vinegar, beef stock, brown sugar, and, if desired, crushed garlic and chili flakes.
  • Pour this sauce mixture over the chops, onion, and tomato in the slow cooker.
  • Cook on high for about 3 hours or until the chops are tender. (Note: Cooking times may vary depending on the slow cooker.)
  • About 30 minutes before serving, thicken the sauce by stirring in a cornstarch slurry (cornstarch dissolved in cold water).
