Ingredients:

  • 4-6 large lemons
  • 1 cup of granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 6 cups of cold water
  • Ice cubes (optional)
  • Lemon slices for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Start by juicing the lemons. Roll each lemon on a countertop to soften it and make it easier to juice. Cut the lemons in half and use a citrus juicer or a handheld juicer to extract the lemon juice. You should get approximately 1 cup of fresh lemon juice.
  2. In a pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice and sugar. The amount of sugar you use may vary depending on your personal preference and the tartness of the lemons. Start with 1 cup of sugar, and you can adjust it later if needed.
  3. Stir the lemon juice and sugar mixture until the sugar is completely dissolved. This may take a minute or two.
  4. Add 6 cups of cold water to the pitcher and mix well. If you like your lemonade stronger or milder, you can adjust the amount of water accordingly.
  5. Taste the lemonade and adjust the sweetness and tartness by adding more sugar or lemon juice as needed.
  6. If you want your lemonade to be chilled, you can either refrigerate the pitcher for about 30 minutes or add ice cubes to individual glasses.
