Ingredients:

  • 1 to 2 teaspoons of dried valerian root (You can find this at health food stores or online)
  • 1 cup of boiling water
  • Honey or lemon (optional, for flavor)

Instructions:

  1. Boil Water: Start by boiling a cup of water. You can use a tea kettle or heat the water in a microwave or on the stovetop.
  2. Prepare the Valerian Root: Place the dried valerian root in a teapot or a heatproof mug.
  3. Pour Hot Water: Carefully pour the boiling water over the valerian root.
  4. Steep: Cover the teapot or mug and let the valerian root steep for about 5 to 10 minutes. The longer you steep it, the stronger the tea will be. You can adjust the steeping time to your taste preferences.
  5. Strain: After steeping, use a fine mesh strainer or a tea infuser to strain the tea into another cup, removing the valerian root. You can also use a coffee filter or cheesecloth for a finer strain.
