What You’ll Need

  • 200 g ground ginger
  • 450 ml mineral water
  • 225 g sugar (or organic honey as a substitute)
  • 115 ml sparkling water
  • A few drops of lemon juice
  • Lemon slices for garnish

Let’s Get Started

1. Cooking the Ginger

Begin by boiling half a liter of water and adding the ground ginger to it. Let it cook over low heat for about 5 minutes. This will infuse the water with the rich flavors of ginger. After cooking, let it rest for 20 minutes, allowing the ginger to steep further. Then, filter the mixture to separate the ginger from the water.

2. Making the Syrup

In a separate container, dissolve the sugar (or honey) in the mineral water that you used to cook the ginger. This will create a sweet syrup that will balance the ginger’s spiciness and bring out its natural flavors.

3. Mixing it Up

Now it’s time to bring everything together. Combine half a glass of ginger juice with two glasses of the syrup and half a glass of mineral water. Give it a gentle stir to ensure all the ingredients are well mixed. To add a touch of tanginess, squeeze a few drops of lemon juice into the mixture.

4. Chill and Serve

To enhance the refreshment factor, put your ginger beer in the refrigerator until it gets nice and cold. Once chilled, serve it just like you would enjoy a regular beer. You can even garnish it with some fresh lemon slices for a visual treat.
