Ingredients needed:
- 120g of organic elderberry syrup
- 85g of honey
- lollipop sticks
- lollipop molds
- kitchen thermometer
Method of preparation:
- On a low heat, mix the organic elderberry syrup together with the honey.
- Stir the mixture continuously until the honey melts and the ingredients are combined.
- Then raise the temperature and stir continuously until it reaches 150°C (check with a kitchen thermometer). This would take about 30 minutes.
- Let it boil a little, then after you see that the mixture rises more than the pot, take it off the heat and let it cool down a bit for a few minutes.
- Then pour the mixture into the molds and insert lollipop sticks.
- Leave them like this to cool and harden within a few hours or overnight if necessary.
- Once they have hardened, remove from the tins and store in a tightly closed container at room temperature.
Note: Be careful when working with the hot mixture and strictly use food grade molds.
Also, keep in mind that these lollipops are not recommended for children under 1 year old!
Do not use these lollipops as a substitute for therapy prescribed by a doctor. If you or your child has serious symptoms, do not self-medicate.
Also, you should not consume more than one lollipop per day .
