Here’s a simple recipe for beef and onion stir fry:
Ingredients:
- 1 lb (450g) beef steak, thinly sliced
- 2 onions, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: sliced bell peppers, mushrooms, broccoli, or any other vegetables you like
- Cooked rice or noodles for serving
Instructions:
- Marinate the beef: In a bowl, combine the thinly sliced beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, and minced garlic. Let it marinate for about 15-30 minutes.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add the sliced onions to the skillet and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until they start to soften.
- Push the onions to one side of the skillet and add the marinated beef. Spread it out in a single layer to ensure even cooking. Cook for 2-3 minutes without stirring to allow the beef to sear and brown.
- Once the beef is browned on one side, stir-fry it with the onions until the beef is cooked through, about 2-3 minutes more.
- Add any additional vegetables you’re using (bell peppers, mushrooms, broccoli, etc.) and stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until they are tender-crisp.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste, and drizzle sesame oil over the stir-fry. Toss everything together until well combined.
- Serve the beef and onion stir-fry hot over cooked rice or noodles.
