Beef and Onion Stir Fry

Here’s a simple recipe for beef and onion stir fry:

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450g) beef steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 onions, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: sliced bell peppers, mushrooms, broccoli, or any other vegetables you like
  • Cooked rice or noodles for serving

Instructions:

  1. Marinate the beef: In a bowl, combine the thinly sliced beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, and minced garlic. Let it marinate for about 15-30 minutes.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the sliced onions to the skillet and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until they start to soften.
  4. Push the onions to one side of the skillet and add the marinated beef. Spread it out in a single layer to ensure even cooking. Cook for 2-3 minutes without stirring to allow the beef to sear and brown.
  5. Once the beef is browned on one side, stir-fry it with the onions until the beef is cooked through, about 2-3 minutes more.
  6. Add any additional vegetables you’re using (bell peppers, mushrooms, broccoli, etc.) and stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until they are tender-crisp.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste, and drizzle sesame oil over the stir-fry. Toss everything together until well combined.
  8. Serve the beef and onion stir-fry hot over cooked rice or noodles.
